Following on from the success at Hussars Hill, General Buller’s next objective was Cingolo Hill.
On the morning of 17 February 1900 Major-General Lyttleton attacked Cingolo Nek, whilst Colonel Dundonald and General Hildyard attacked Cingolo Hill.
By that evening, both objectives had been achieved with the west flank of the Boers now in British hands.
