Vrieskraal was a farm in the current Marble Hall district of the Eastern Transvaal (now Limpopo).
On 16 August 1901 a detachment of the 19th Hussars were ambushed on the farm by a Boer commando under the command of General Muller.
Five of the Hussars were killed and a number taken prisoner.
